I meant to make this review a looooooong time ago when I finally found Etude House's Precious Mineral BB Cream that I'd been looking for! X3
I had actually seen it before, but it was selling for quite a ridiculous price, so I passed on that one, then recently found it on sale for $35 (Still quite a bit, I know), and couldn't help but buy it! :D
I was looking for this BB cream since I started hearing heaps of good stuff about it... And maybe also because Etude House was promoted by some of my favourite actors... <_< >_>
*totally not obsessive* ^^;
The shade I will be reviewing is the #2 Sheer Glowing Skin, it is the medium shade, and is formulated for dry skin. I had actually wanted to buy the paler shade for oily skin (and just wear extra moisturizer), but it wasn't available at the store >_<
Packaging Design: 8/10
The packaging is quite pretty, the colours and design are both really nice, and it comes with a very easy to use pump~
I don't find it quite as awesome as Skin79's BB Cream, but I still love it! ^^
Coverage & Colour: 9/10
The base colour of this BB cream is peachy-yellow (is that even a colour? XD), and it is good for a medium skin tone like mine. It is a bit lighter than my hands, and almost the same (slight lighter) as the skin on my face (I am medium-light, about a NC20-25).
Blotchy skin~ D8
The coverage is at medium-full, and is buildable. I find that it can cover light blemishes easily, and even medium blemishes if you build up a few layers, but you would almost definitely still need concealer for very dark spots or shadows, I always still need concealer to cover my very dark under eye circles. The finish is quite matte compared to most other BB creams, but I still prefer to powder over it. This easily lasts all day (10+) hours when I powder over it~
Consistency & Feel: 7.5/10
The consistency is quite similar to liquid foundation, and blends out quite easily, however, it does seem to dry quite quickly. It feels quite light I do not need to use a lot, as even a thin layer provides pretty great coverage.
Moisturising/Oil Control: 7/10
Since this was formulated for dry skin, I had hoped it would be a bit more moisturizing than it is. it would probably be pretty good for people with normal or slightly dry skin, but my skin is quite dry and this was not as moisturizing as my other 3 BB creams. the oil control is pretty decent, other than a tiny little bit around my nose, I don't get oily even after 7+ hours at school.
Smell: 8/10
The smell is pleasant and not overwhelming... Not much to say about it really~ ^^
Negative Effects?:
As I have mentioned before, I have very sensitive skin and even mild irritants and chemicals can sometimes give me a rash. I'd say that this bb cream would be alright for people with sensitive skin to use, but as always, I recommend testing a little bit out before using it~
Overall Rating: 8/10
Would I Recommend It?
Yes! This bb cream is a very flattering colour and (for me at least), and provides good coverage with just a thin layer, it is great for everyday use, it does not look cakey. I would definitely buy this again if I run out... Which may not be for a while since I currently have 4 bb creams in use XD
